Five new ideas for Davenport

1. We need to do a better job at recognizing our citizens who have contributed to our community. No where in Davenport do you find anything named for Ronald Reagan, Kathryn Kirschbaum or Gene Baker. No school or major roadway is named for President Hoover - the only Iowa born president of the U.S.

2. Davenport needs to rebuild from the inside out. Instead of all these new condos out on West Locust, how about new housing similar in style to Cobblestone? And not on West Locust, but on 3rd and 4th streets just west of downtown.

3. There needs to be a retail store similar to a Walgreens or CVS downtown, preferably near the Lend-A-Hand and Heritage house buildings.

4. Please get someone to replace the Ramada Eyesore at 65th & Brady streets with a Holiday Inn Express or similar style hotel.

5. When are the folks who live in northeast Davenport (north of Kimberly, between Utica Ridge and Eastern) going to get an elementary school for their part of town? Garfield, Harrison and Eisenhower are just too far away!
